Coral Reef Initiative

Coral reefs in the Hawaiian archipelago constitute nearly 85 percent of the nation's reefs.  The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Hawaii has reaffirmed the national NRCS agreement to help lead efforts to address land-based pollution threats to coral reefs.  NRCS Hawaii has been an active participant in the state's steering committee, which has assisted in the development and implementation of Hawaii's Local Action Strategy to Address Land-Based Pollution Threats to Coral Reefs.
