MOKULEIA PUBLIC ACCESS and OVERLOOK

The project was a collaborative effort between public agencies and the landowner.   The State DLNR, Division of Forestry and Wildlife, Na Ala Hele Trails and Access Program, provided labor, materials, volunteer work crews, project management, and $60,000 in funding.   Maui Land and Pineapple Company, Inc., property owner, was responsible for the project design, acquiring necessary permits and providing materials for the project.   Maui County Council, appropriated $65,000 to the Parks and Recreation Department.   Tri-Isle RC&D coordinated many aspects of the project, and assisted in administering the project grant.
