The Heifer Program consists of passing on female goats, swine, cattle, and rabbits to residents in the community to form a chain in expanding livestock.   Shown here is Joe Wampler with a young goat produced by the female goat he received.   The Heifer Program provides livestock management and training so that families who need help can produce food and added income from their own resources.

A grant of $36,800 was aquired from Heifer Project International for needy resipients of goats, swine, and cattle.   An additional grant of $5,000 from McInerny Foundation has been awarded to expand the project.   Tri-Isle RC&D Council is working with the Molokai-Lanai Soil and Water Conservation District to improve the economy of the area.
