Informational Meeting To Be Held

WHO: North Shore Farmers and Ranchers

WHAT: We are holding an informational meeting on the new Conservation Security Program that rewards the best producers and motivates the rest to protect and enhance natural resources on private land. This new program is based on watersheds and recognized farmers and ranchers on Kauai and Maui last year. This year it is only available to North Shore producers and next year the program will cover a different Island. Applications to the Conservation Security Program are due on March 31, 2006 so this meeting will help you to answer questions about the program.

WHEN: Thursday, March 2, 2006, 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

WHERE: Waialua High/Intermediate School Cafeteria, 67-160 Farrington Hwy.

WHY: To provide the latest information on application, eligibility, ranking criteria, and award tiers for the Conservation Security Program, funded through the Farm Bill and administered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

HOW: For more details, please contact Sheila Cox at 486-8300 ext. 101 or Jan Surface at 541-2600 ext. 153. USDA is an equal opportunity employer and provider.
