To:
Pacific Islands Area Employee.
Purpose:
Clarification of appropriate use of free web-based training available in AgLearn.
With the increased availability of free, web-based training to USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Employees via AgLearn, there have been some questions regarding the appropriate means for employees to access and complete training on their own. This bulletin provides guidance for three common situations.
| Situation 1: |
Supervisor adds item to employee learning plan either
via the IDP process or directly using supervisor access privileges.
|
| |
Guidance: |
Employee should complete this training during working hours as soon as reasonably possible and before the deadline (if any) provided by the supervisor.
|
| Situation 2: |
Employee identifies relevant / desired training and wants to complete training during working hours.
|
| |
Guidance: |
Employee must obtain supervisor approval before using regular working hours to complete training, including free training on AgLearn.
|
| Situation 3: |
Employee identifies relevant / desired training and completes training on his/her own time (e.g. lunch break, after regular working hours, from home during evenings or weekends).
|
| |
Guidance: |
Employees are welcome and encouraged to take advantage of the free training opportunities offered on AgLearn to improve their professional and personal knowledge, skills and abilities on their own time, but are not required to do so.
